Nashville Flood News
Just want to update all our clients and friends and soon to be friends on our May flood status.
Personally, I've lived through a lot of difficult situations over the years, and I will say I've been very blessed to have survived myself, and them. Having not spent any time myself in a "war zone", this flood has been the most surreal, sad time that I have seen, for so many people here in Nashville and the middle Tennessee areas. Please click on the picture and watch the video to get just a small vision of what happened here.
Robin and I were remarkably fortunate to have had no damage at all at The Parlor studio. In fact, on that Sunday, while part of our neighborhood was under water (for real), we helped a friend out who had a client in from TX, and a session booked at another studio, which did end up flooding. We "bailed them out", so to speak, and were able to open our studio to them to record that afternoon and evening.
Our residence only took on a few inches of water in our finished basement, so we now have the opportunity to rebuild that. Truly a minor hardship compared to the thousands of people who totally lost every possession they had. Our neighborhood lost over 30 homes. Again, very surreal to stand there and see an entire block of houses under water.
Many of our session musicians also lost thousands of dollars of instruments and amps in this flood.
We can only keep booking them for sessions to try to make a small dent in recouping their losses.

Charley Pride
Had a great week here at The Parlor. Mr. Charley Pride was in for several days, tracking for a soon to be released new project. Some of the absolute best musicians in Nashville, as you would expect. Charley is still recording for Music City Records.
On top of that, he also had a wonderful birthday get together here. Lots of his friends stopped by to say hi and there was (and still is) plenty of birthday cake for all.
